Product Overview:The Hexagon Nut (Hex Nut) is the most ubiquitous fastener component, featuring a six-sided internal-threaded geometry designed for use with bolts, screws, and threaded rods. Its hexagonal shape is engineered for optimal torque application, allowing tools to grip the nut from multiple angles. It is a fundamental element in structural engineering, automotive assembly, and heavy machinery, providing the necessary clamping force to maintain joint integrity.
Manufacturing & Technology:
Cold Heading & Hot Forging: Small to medium-sized nuts (M3-M24) are produced via Multi-Station Cold Heading for high-speed precision and material savings. Larger sizes are Hot Forged to ensure internal grain flow follows the nut's contour, maximizing load-bearing capacity.
Tapping Precision: Utilizing high-speed automated tapping machines to ensure thread tolerance within 6H (Metric) or 2B (Imperial). This ensures a smooth fit and consistent friction coefficient when mated with bolts.
Heat Treatment: High-strength nuts (Class 8, 10, 12) undergo Quenching and Tempering to achieve the required proof load without stripping the threads.
Surface Finishes: To combat oxidation, we offer Yellow/Blue-White Zinc Plating, Hot-Dipped Galvanizing (oversized tapping available), and Dacromet for superior salt-spray resistance.
Technical Parameters:
Standards: DIN 934, ISO 4032, ASME B18.2.2.
Strength Grades: Class 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 (Metric); Grade 2, 5, 8 (Imperial).
Materials: Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel (A2/A4), Brass.
Thread Type: Coarse (UNC), Fine (UNF), and Metric Pitch.
